Beat the B.I.K.

Double-Cab Pick-Up Tax is on The Rise – Here’s How to Beat the BIK

As you may have seen on the news over the last few months, double-cab pick-up trucks with a payload of one tonne or more will soon be treated as passenger cars in the eyes of tax schemes. It’s supposedly a part of the government’s crackdown on the misuse of double-cabs and it means everyone’s favourite workhorses will soon be subject to massively increased Benefit-in-kind tax rates. These changes take place from 6th April 2025, so the clock is certainly ticking.

What if I currently own a double-cab pick-up?

If you currently own a commercially rated DCPU, transitional BIK arrangements (ensuring the current tax treatment) will apply until whichever of the following events occur first:

• The vehicle is sold

• The lease expires

• April 5th 2029

Can I still buy a truck before the deadline?

Absolutely!

Providing the vehicle is purchased, leased or ordered before April 6th 2025, you’ll still be eligible for the current tax treatment, under transitional BIK arrangements.

Be sure to contact us today to secure a first-class custom pick-up truck, in time for the April 6th 2025 deadline!

Which trucks qualify?

As long as you place your order before April 6th, our full range of custom double cab pick-up trucks will still be eligible for the current tax relief until 2029. We also have extensive options for single-cab pick-up trucks, which aren’t subject to the tax increase and make for an excellent alternative if you’re still looking for an incredibly unique workhorse!
